ABOUT AMY WATKINSON.
Born In Ilkeston 15th of March, 1998, I've always had a passion for Art and the creative side of things.
I attended school in Ilkeston, and then Ilkeston's local Sixth form before beginning to attend University in 2016. I managed to secure a place on Derby University's Full Time BA(HONS) Fine Art course.(I am currently beginning my third year).
I then moved to Derby to attend University, and after University I shall be based in Derby for the foreseeable future.
My primary practices are within the print making field, something that I begun in Sixth Form back in Ilkeston, and carried over to University. Even though I only begun to use those skills learnt properly when in my Second Year of University.
Out of the studios, I also work with many other art forms and create these within my own spare time.

Printmaking always appeared to me due to how precise you can be with your prints, without having to use any form of photographic printing to create an overall outcome. There is a beauty behind creating a hand made print, and there is a noticeable comparison in-between hand made and digitally ,made prints.
Screen-printing will always be my go too, I enjoy manually creating the prints and creating my own inks. The whole process of creating the screen, to printing, to the final piece appeals to me and let's me be as free as I want when it comes to printing my pieces.

Within my future practices, I am hoping to experiment more with other printing techniques and experimentation.
