Face prints

This series of Facial prints where created at the same time as the Full body prints that I created. They have a completely different look and feel to them, but are created In exactly the same way as the body prints that I also produce.

The original images are taken from flat parties during my second year at university.

Created in Photoshop, Angel was the first person that I had transformed into a stand alone facial image.

She is created by separating the image into three very simple layers. The base layer to create the bright skin tone, then hair which is guided by the base layer. Then the final bitmap image which ties the image together.

The second image that I experimented with was that of my friend Sean. Another image that was captured on a night out on one of my cameras.

Sean is also made up of only three layer, the basic skin layer which maps out where the hair will go, the hair, and then the final bitmap layer which pulls everything together.

Throughout my printing practices, I've used other people as my main point of focus.
As an experiment, I decided to try and use a candid shot of myself that someone else had taken of me.
it's very weird working with your own face, and it seems even weirder to the people around you who can clearly see you printing your own face.

This image is of one of my friends Daniel, the original image was on snapchat and was simply just a selfie of me and Dan.

I took the image, edited I edited it in photoshop to isolate all of his features and then created this series of seriously bright facial images.

Molly is one of my closest friends at University and I used her images to initially kick off the project.

There's a lot of photographical evidence of nights out with Molly, or social events with Molly. Meaning that there is always a wide range of photographs to isolate and turn into these kinds of prints.

This image of Hiffy was taken by a club photographer, so the original image has about 8 people in it.

once again, I isolated Hiffy and his features in order to create this small series that includes a few slightly toned down colours when compared to prints like Daniels.

The last set of face prints I created was those of Regan.

Regan is another close friend of mine and comes to a lot of social events with us , she isn't one for having many photographs of her taken though, so just getting her to pose for this one was a whole completely different task within itself.
